Many of you have likely heard about the bombing at the Boston Marathon today. I’ve created this downloadable wallpaper to raise money to benefit the victims. All money raised will be evenly distributed between Boston Children’s Hospital and Red Cross of Boston. You can donate here.

Please spread the word, not only for this one, but for all charitable endeavors, including blood donation. The people of Boston need our help. Let’s give it to them.

“More than any time in recent history, America’s destiny is not of our own choosing. We did not seek nor did we provoke an assault on our freedom and our way of life. We did not expect nor did we invite a confrontation with evil. Yet the true measure of a people’s strength is how they rise to master that moment when it does arrive. 44 people were killed a couple of hours ago at Kennison State University. Three swimmers from the men’s team were killed and two others are in critical condition. When, after having heard the explosion from their practice facility, they ran into the fire to help get people out. Ran in to the fire. The streets of heaven are too crowded with angels tonight. They’re our students and our teachers and our parents and our friends. The streets of heaven are too crowded with angels, but every time we think we have measured our capacity to meet a challenge, we look up and are reminded that that capacity may well be limitless. This is a time for American heroes. We will do what is hard. We will achieve what is great. This is a time for American heroes and we reach for the stars. God bless their memory, God bless you and God bless the United States of America.”

You are if you try to prevent me from having my beliefs. If homosexuality or gay marriage is against your beliefs, don’t get gay married or be homosexual. But your beliefs do not get to dictate what other people do or what the current definition of equality is. It wasn’t so long ago that equality did not include people of color. It wasn’t so long ago that Jews were slaughtered for their beliefs. Me: I was walking through the Public Gardens, noticed a lanky, older man with large glasses and a red sox cap on a walk, and I said, "Excuse me, are you Stephen King?"He nodded, I extended my hand, he shook it and I told him that I grew up reading his books and it was a great honor to meet him.
Wife: wow awesome!
Me: Yeah!!! Super excited.
Me: Also: amazing magical powers strike again!
Wife: doesn't count because you didn't already know him
Me: Of course I knew him! I spent years reading his work! I was reading Dreamcatcher while sick in a London hospital bed!
Wife: celebrities are different than bumping into friends and coworkers. but agreed still very cool
